Roll-Off Rentals
Roll-Off Dumpster Rental in Scranton, PA
Ten, fifteen, twenty and thirty yard roll-off containers delivered across Scranton and Lackawanna County. One flat rate, protection boards standard, and a local owner who answers the phone himself.
A roll-off is the open-top steel container that arrives on a truck with a hoist and literally rolls off the back onto your driveway or the street. Rear barn doors swing open so you can walk material in instead of lifting it over the side, which matters more than people expect on a long day. Sizes are described in cubic yards. Ten, fifteen, twenty and thirty are what we run, and each one has a job it does better than the others.
Big Z has been putting these on the ground around the Electric City since 2011, from Providence and North Scranton down through South Side, out to Dunmore, Dickson City, Moosic and the Mid Valley boroughs. Homeowners, roofers, remodelers, landlords, property managers, estate attorneys. The container is the same steel box for all of them. What changes is the size, where it sits, and how fast it needs to come back empty.
We price flat. You get one number for the container, the delivery, the rental period and the haul, and that is the number on the invoice. Protection boards under every drop. Same-day and next-day delivery, next-day swaps. If you are not sure which size fits your job, describe it to us on the phone at (570) 774-4910 and we will tell you straight, even when the honest answer is a smaller container.
Where Our Roll-Offs End Up
Whole-House Cleanouts
Basement, attic, garage and everything between. See the residential page for how we handle old Scranton houses with full cellars.
Remodels and Additions
Kitchen, bath, whole-floor renovation. Plaster and lath is the local weight trap, so heavy phases get a smaller container loaded flat.
Roof Tear-Offs
Slate and multi-layer asphalt need careful sizing. Our roofing containers get set tight to the eave with boards down.
Demolition Debris
Garages, porches, sheds and interior demo. Concrete and masonry ride in their own container, part filled, never mixed with wood and trim.
Commercial Turnovers
Retail fit-outs, restaurant remodels, office clearouts and apartment turns on a scheduled swap cycle instead of one-off rentals.
Estate and Downsizing
Clearing a family home is slow work, so we leave the container long enough to do it properly and swap when you fill it.
Storm and Flood Cleanup
Lackawanna River flooding leaves soaked, heavy contents behind. We deliver fast when the water drops and swap next day while crews are working.
Yard and Landscape Debris
Brush, sod, limbs and old fencing. Pennsylvania handles leaf and yard waste separately, so tell us what is going in before we load.
Four Sizes and the Room They Need
The 10 yard is short, low sided and easy to place, built for heavy dense material like plaster, tile, concrete and slate where the weight limit arrives first. The 15 yard suits a single-room remodel or a packed attic. The 20 yard is the size most Scranton jobs end up ordering, big enough for a full basement or a house full of contents without becoming unwieldy in a narrow driveway. The 30 yard is for bulky light debris, furniture, siding, framing scrap and cabinets. Allow roughly sixty feet of straight approach and clearance overhead for the hoist. Our size guide walks through real examples.

You call, we ask three questions: what is going in, where does it sit, and when do you need it. We check the address for overhead lines, grade and turning room, and we tell you if a City of Scranton street-occupancy permit is needed because the container cannot go on your property. On delivery day the driver lays protection boards, rolls the can off square, and sets the doors facing your loading side. Fill it level with the rails, keep prohibited items out, and call when you are done. We pull it, or swap it next day if you need another. That is the whole process, and it works the same in January snow as in July.

Roll-Off Dumpster Rental FAQs
What exactly is a roll-off dumpster?
It is an open-top steel container with rear doors, delivered on a hoist truck that rolls it off the back and picks it up the same way. No wheels, no lifting arms, no permanent placement. You rent it for a set period, fill it, and we haul it. Sizes are measured in cubic yards, and we stock 10, 15, 20 and 30 yard containers across Lackawanna County.
How much space do I need for delivery?
Plan on roughly sixty feet of straight approach in line with where the container will sit, plus enough overhead clearance for the hoist to raise, which means no low branches or service drops. Width of a normal driveway is fine. If your property cannot take it, we place in the street with a permit. Send a photo when you book if you are unsure.
How long can I keep the container?
The standard rental period covers most residential jobs comfortably, and we are not in a rush to yank it off your driveway. If a cleanout is taking longer than planned, call and we will extend it. Estate work and slow weekend projects usually need extra time and that is normal. On active job sites we swap rather than extend, so loading never stops.
What is not allowed in the container?
Televisions, computers, monitors, laptops and peripherals are banned from landfill disposal statewide by Pennsylvania's Covered Device Recycling Act. Also out: whole tires, lead-acid batteries, used oil, liquid paint, propane tanks, asbestos and hazardous waste. Yard waste and heavy masonry have their own handling. The full list is on our disposal page for Lackawanna County.
How do I book and how fast can you get here?
Call (570) 774-4910 and talk to us directly, or use the contact page. Same-day delivery is often available on a morning call and next day is routine. Swaps run next day. Storm weeks and the May and August student turnover fill the calendar fast, so give us a little notice in those stretches if you can.
