Why people choose the 20 yard

The 20 exists because most real projects are not one thing. You start on the kitchen, the basement gets involved, then the garage empties out too. Twenty-two feet of box and a three to four ton allowance absorbs that drift. Ordering a 15 and swapping it twice costs you two delivery windows and two days of momentum on a job that has a finish date.

For contractors it is the standard unit of work. Will it fit?

Twenty-two feet of container wants about 25 feet of clear ground, 8 feet of width, and roughly 60 feet of straight approach so the driver never has to jackknife. Overhead clearance is about 23 feet for the hoist — low service drops on older streets are the usual holdup. On a standard Scranton driveway it takes two cars' worth of space. Narrow one-ways, back alleys and shared double-block driveways often will not take it, and that is a size-down conversation, not a maybe.
